Rutilated Quartz is a variety of Quartz, usually clear quartz, which contains needle-like inclusions of Rutile, a mineral composed primarily of titanium dioxide. It is often used as a gemstone. While inclusions usually reduce the value of a crystal, rutilated quartz is in fact valued for the quality and beauty of these inclusions.
The fine inclusions mostly look golden, but they can also be silver, copper or red. These inclusions can be distributed randomly or in bundles, sometimes fanning out like the rays of a star.
