Another exciting Tucson Gem, Mineral and Fossil shopping expedition is behind us. And you know what that means… new treasures to share with all of you! This annual event is our opportunity to view and select wonders from the entire world, all in one place. We’ve combed the shows and chosen the best in jewelry, gemstones, fossils, minerals, home decor and gift items. Visit our store soon and browse the world bazaar that is Four Peaks Mining Co.
In the meantime, here’s a selection of the new pieces…
Fossils
Among the new trilobites, oysters, ammonites, and other fossils, we have a 73.71 gram polished Baltic Amber specimen which includes a number of insects. This mineral and fossil combo offers you a window into the past.
We found a number of interesting Ammonites with fiery red shells and delicate crystal interior chambers from Morocco and Madagascar, fossil Sea Urchins, Oysters and Coral and brilliant Petrified Wood mini Stumps and large Slices from Madagascar. We also have a selection of vibrant Ammolite pieces that are suitable for jewelry designs.

Meteorites
The Sericho Meteorite was discovered in 2016 by two brothers searching for their camels west of the village of Habaswein and south of Sericho, Kenya. Meteorite dealers Michael Farmer and Moritz Karl traveled to the area in 2017 to view the “dense stones” these farmers had discovered. These pallasite, or stony-iron fragments, were confirmed to be meteorites in 2017.
We offer this 17.94 gram slice with visible olivine crystal inclusions and a polished finish on both sides. This is a perfect piece for the meteorite collector or jewelry designer looking for a unique design.
Minerals
The range of sizes, colors and options of minerals available in Tucson did not disappoint! We found some of our old favorites, like the “Cactus” Quartz from South Africa and Stalactite Amethyst slices from Brazil & Uruguay. We also have some new offerings such as Searles Lake Halite, Vesuvianite from Quebec, Canada and Apatite with Quartz and Hematite, from Mexico.
We’re excited to offer new specimens of the eye-catching Cubic Pyrite in matrix from the famous Ampliación a Victoria Mine in Navajún, La Rioja, Spain, and some brilliant clusters from Peru.
You’ll love the brilliantly colored selection of Chrysocolla, Malachite, Hemimorphite, Aragonite, Vanadinite and Blue Chalcedony, to name a few.
